I have 20 years of experience in a wide variety of audit roles and external financial reporting and previous to this, I spent 10 years in banking and finance.

My experience in Audit and Accounting services commenced in August 2000 and included acting in the role of Audit Manager since 2003 (Senior Audit Manager from 2012 to 2015). I specialise in Audit and other Assurance Services and Statutory Financial Reporting. The audit process includes conducting assessments of the operating effectiveness of internal controls. These assessments regularly progress to the formulation of recommendations for suggested improvements in internal controls, which are then formally reported to the respective Committees, Boards of Directors and Audit Committees. Such recommendations also include the interpretation and application of Australian Accounting Standards that apply when preparing general purpose and special purpose financial reports.

Other experience includes auditing in the finance sector, including 9 years as an external auditor of ADIs and many years of experience auditing solicitor debenture issuing companies. In addition, I have 10 years of experience in banking and finance, including 3 years in Business Banking in the Swan Hill district, experience that involved direct exposure to such agricultural enterprises as dryland cereal cropping, livestock husbandry, dairy farming, stone fruit orchards, citrus orchards and viticulture.

I have been the manager responsible for many audits conducted throughout Ballarat and Western Victoria during the past 18 years. I have worked closely with For-Profit and Not-for-Profit audit clients, including private companies, companies limited by guarantee, co-operatives and incorporated associations, from many industries including education (both public and private schools), manufacturing, retail, community organisations, aged care, finance and investment, sporting clubs, gaming venues and trust account inspections.
